Auresine is an endopeptidase which cleaves the glycyl-glycine bond in the pentaglycine cross-bridge, which links staphylococcal peptidoglycans. Recombinant Auresine effectively digest cell walls of staphylococcal cells in unique conditions (water and low temperature) which prevent degradation of DNA or proteins during isolation procedure.
It may be applied to:
enzymatic cell lysis for DNA and RNA isolation process
staphylococcal cell lysis in environmental studies and DNA-based microbial detection
